	Area Information Tabernas village is almost frozen in time, the pace is slow and peaceful the only noise coming from the local bars where locals gather to play cards and dominoes. The streets bustle with activity on Wednesday morning when the market comes to town. Movie buffs in particular enjoy a visit to Tabernas, set between the Sierra de Alhamilla and Sierra de Filabres in a barren landscape of canyons and rocky wasteland reminiscent of the American Wild West. A few decades ago when Western movies were the most popular Hollywood genre, legendary stars such as Clint Eastwood, Lee van Cleef, Claudia Cardinale and Charles Bronson strutted their stuff here in the dry heat on film sets which fans will recognise from such great films as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars and The Magnificent Seven. The movie lots have now become theme park tourist attractions. There are three to visit: Mini Hollywood, Texas Hollywood and Western Leone. All offer a fun day out in Europe’s only desert region, with stagecoach rides, live shows, a zoo and the opportunity to slake your thirst in the saloon. For those who like it fast, 2km away is the Circuito de Almeria where you can see and hear the thunder of motorbikes as they burn up the track. For those who like it slow you can trek through the magnificent landscape, an ideal place for photographers and bird spotters. Just outside the next village of Sorbas are the ancient caves (Cuevas de Sorbas). There is much to see and do and the area offers a wide variety of places to visit such as the capital Almeria, Turre, Mojacar, Vera, Cabo de Gato and Roquetas de Mar all within a 40 minute drive. Las calles se llenan de actividad los miércoles con la llegada del mercadillo. Los amantes del cine disfrutan con visitar Tabernas, situado entre Sierra Alhamilla y Sierra de los Filabres, un paisaje de canyones áridos y tierra rocosa recordando el oeste americano. Hace algunas décadas cuando las películas del oeste eran las mas populares de Hollywood, estrellas legendarias como Clint Eastwood, Lee van Cleef, Claudia Cardinale y Charles Bronson se pasearon por aquí por los decorados cinematográficos que sus seguidores reconocerán de grandes películas como El bueno, el feo y el malo, Por un puñado de dólares o Los siete magníficos. Los decorados cinematográficos ahora son parques de atracciones. Se pueden visitar tres: El Mini Hollywood, Texas Hollywood y Western Leone. Todos ofrecen un día de diversión en el único desierto de Europa con paseos en coche de caballo, espectáculos en directo, un zoológico y bares donde saciar su sed. Para los amantes de la velocidad, a 2 Km. de Tabernas esta el Circuito de Velocidad de Almería donde se puede ver y oír el trueno de las motos quemando la pista. Para los amantes de algo mas tranquilo se pueden pasear por los paisajes magníficos, un lugar ideal para aficionados de la fotografía y para observar las aves. A las afueras de Sorbas están las Cuevas de Sorbas. Hay mucho que ver y hacer y la zona ofrece una amplia variedad de sitios que visitar tal como Almería capital, Turre, Mojacar, Vera, Cabo de Gata y Roquetas de Mar todos situados a menos de 40 minutos.
